The Annual FYF Music Festival took place recently at the Los Angeles Historical Park. This 2 day fest featured indie bands from all over at which to my surprise many were female fronted bands. Bands like Chromatics, Sleigh Bells, Warpaint, and Chairlift definitely showed off not just their seasoned voices, but of course inspired me to check out these women's indie do's.
Brooklyn based synth-pop duo Chairlift singer definitely caught my eye right away with her haircolor taking the ombré trend to a whole different level. With her dark base, a band of blonde and dark ends this look is great for anyone seeking a head-turning style! I kinda like it, but I kinda don't...hmm..Check this out and decide for yourselves!
Keeping her long locks raven black with solid square fringe lead singer Alexis Krauss from Sleigh Bells definitely knows how to work the crowd. This cut is great for anyone that has a stronger jawline. Sleigh Bells whose signed to M.I.A.'s record label N.E.E.T, was definitely one of the most memorable performances of the weekend!
On the other hand local Los Angelenos female indie rock group WarPaint seen below are rockin' modern day shag cuts that looked amazing while they were whipping it around stage! These shag haircut shapes work on most hair types-specially those with wavy hair!
As Ruth Radelet from Portland, Oregon based band Chromatics put everyone in a daze with her dreamy melodic voice, I couldn't stop staring at her..well her hair. Her asymmetric jagged fringe that's disconnected from the rest of layers around the face I totally admired. This cut has a great balance of soft with a touch of edge.
Overall, the crowd seemed to be a fashion statement in itself, and was definitely a haven for the "hipster" crowd. I must say though, I couldn't get away without seeing someone with an ombré haircolor....hey L.A. lets move forward already!
