I can’t go one week without coming across a new mascara. It is either in the form of a sample, a commercial or an ad in a magazine, but they all seem to tout how they offer the longest lashes, the biggest curls and a few other claims that I am sure prove false. For the past few months I have sworn by Maybelline’s One by One mascara, and while I still list that as my top budget-friendly/drugstore pick, it has been replaced from it’s “first place” perch in my beauty cabinet. The current victor?Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real mascara.
I must admit, I was hesitant to try They’re Real. While I am a Benefit devotee, I have never been a fan of the consistency of the brand’s mascara. But I have been converted and I am in l-o-v-e! The wand is a combination of short and long bristles that separate and coat each lash, even those tiny ones that are usually ignored. The result is lashes that are beyond long, curled and thick. I looked as if my lashes literally doubled!
Benefit is a big celeb fave, with Rachel McAdams, Carrie Bradshaw… I mean, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Hudson and Nicole Kidman all counted as fans. I wonder if anyone ever asks them if “they’re real?”
