This year Halloween falls on a Wednesday, so instead of going out, I thought it would be much more fun to stay in, pass out candy and work on some fun Halloween arts and crafts! My two DIY faves, Halloween Wine Glasses and Mummy Lanterns.
What better arts and crafts project than decorating a Halloween themed wine glass to use and enjoy while you pass out candy to the trick or treaters. It’s simple and fun to make! Best part it’s cost affordable.
All you need is a wine glass and a glass proof marker in your fave Halloween colors!!! I used Elmer’s Painters (left) and I went for traditional Halloween colors, Black and Orange.
If you want to get fancy you may want to add rhinestones or other fun accessories using super glue! Make it your own, be creative, and remember you can’t go wrong!!! Here’s what mine looks like…Drink or Treat!
Another easy and crafty project are Mummy Lanterns! These are the easiest Halloween fun crafts to do and will involve the least time to create! All you need are empty jars, gauze, goggly eyes, and a candle! First peel the label off your jars (I used a glass peanut butter jar), rinse them well and dry them off. Once your jar is cleaned, wrap gauze around the jar. Make sure to cover the jar well, but use minimal gauze because the more you use the less your light will shine thru. After you have wrapped your jar, fasten it, and glue on the goggly eyes (you can find these at any craft store like Michaels or Jo Ann’s). Be creative and silly and most importantly have FUN!
Once the outside of the Mummy Lantern is done, insert a candle into your jar, light it, and nada bing bada boom you have a Mummy Lantern! Make a few and use them as guide lights to lead up to your house for trick or treaters or use them as decoration, like on the mantel of a fireplace! Takes two minutes to make, but makes two times the difference when decorating around the house!
Make your house look a celeb decorated it with a few fun arts and crafts that you can DIY, and make at home! This is what I like to call decorating on a dime! Have a Happy and safe Halloween!!! Send us your pics of your Halloween crafts and we would LOVE to post them!
