On the week of New Years Eve '08 I decided to go to YouTube in search for a classic, retro hairstyle tutorial. To my amazement I came across one young woman who made an amazing Rockabilly Pin Up hairstyle. Her username is 'ILoveGerardo'. She is one talented, classy, sweet chica and she offers a lot more than just hairstyles. Check out the interview (see below) I had a chance to do on her and what she's

SMC: What made you want to start Vlogging?
Iris: I have a lot to talk about and when I do, I notice people surrounding my friends and I, are usually eavesdropping on our conversation. It doesn't bother me; it just shows that perhaps what I have to contribute is interesting enough to share with other people who seem to have similar interests. You have to wonder, there must be at least 1 other person in this world, that you probably will never meet, but may be 100% interested in listening and watching the things you want to show and tell. You Tube is a perfect tool for ensuring you get connected.
SMC: Why do you take the time to create these awesome videos that take a lot of work?
Iris: Vlogging is a fun little ingredient to add to the day. If it weren't for things like random vlogs, social networking and chats with friends, the days would all be "work"
SMC: I will admit, I fell in love with your channel when you started posting pin up hair do's. Every so often I see them again. Any chance you might stick to posting pin up YouTube videos?
Iris: Thank you so much. I can't stick to just that. I have more to contribute than just hair styles. I love my vlogging channel for accepting various and random topics. Things like "what I wish I knew before I had my baby", "how I stay fit as a mom", my "outfit of the day"-Even though I am NOT a fashionista, I don't keep up with the latest fashions and am NOT an awesome, aspiring fashion designer. I am just your every day gal :) People can appreciate that too.

SMC: The videos are very inspirational. If and when people message you, you are very hands on with the replies. Are there any messages that try to discourage you from posting?
Iris: My vlogging channel is not very popular, so I am not as exposed to many. It seems that the only people watching my vlogs are my subscribers. So far, they are all very kind and have nothing but encouraging things to say to me. Go read some of my comments now, you will see I am serious.
SMC: Do you have any encouraging words for your audience?
Iris: Though I don’t see or know many of you personally, I am glad to have lived and known of you. If it weren’t for the internet, many of us would have never known of each other. I am glad you stop by to say hello to me and hope you feel the same way about me, when I make a vlog for you.

SMC: and last but not least; the links to where people can follow you for more great tips...
