Lori Rischer’s philosophy is that living a healthy lifestyle is all about balance. “It’s easier to be happy when you’re healthy”, says Lori, “and when you're happy, you're a nicer person.”
Her journey began when she started doing yoga and noticed her own life and health improved. She wanted to share that experience with other people so she became a teacher. Lori was certified as a Yoga Therapist at Loyola Marymount University with Dr. Larry Payne in their renowned yoga therapy program. She also received a teaching certificate from Earth’s Power Yoga in Los Angeles.
“I’ve always been active, but as I got busier I realized it was harder to find time to take care of myself,” she says. And no truer words could be spoken! Lori has kept incredibly busy as a national radio promotion/marketing executive at Island Def Jam Music Group, working closely with superstars such as: Rihanna, Bon Jovi, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Neon Trees and Taio Cruz.. She also spent several years at The Firm, one of Hollywood’s top management companies based in Beverly Hills, While there, she signed OneRepublic and was on the management teams of mega artists such as Enrique Iglesias, OneRepublic, Ice Cube, Mandy Moore, Korn and many others. Her work has been widely recognized by the music industry. In fact, she was named the 2010 Promotion Executive Trendsetter by FMQB Magazine and the 2010 Executive of the Year by SIN Magazine.
Combining two of her passions-- Music & Yoga-- Lori teamed up with KIIS-FM and 98.7 (KYSR) to be the Yoga instructor for their popular Yoga On The Pier and Yoga On The Beach summer promotions for the last three years. The series has been named Huffington Posts’ “Five Best Summer Workouts” and was featured in the LA Times, Malibu Magazine, LA Yoga Magazine, Pepperdine Times. “It is the highlight of my summer!” Lori exclaims.
Lori is also the co-creator, co-executive producer and host of the new celebrity health and fitness show from SkeeTV, Rockstar Health & Fitness. “Everyone is interested in people who are in the public eye, so we found an opportunity with Rockstar Health and Fitness to focus on some of their healthy lifestyle secrets,” Lori says. The guest artists include: Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy), OneRepublic, Canadian superstars Hedley and Kim Glass a 2008 Olympic silver medal winner.
Giving back to the community is another important way Lori wants to create balance and a healthy lifestyle. She supports a number of charities that are very close to her heart. In 2008, Lori received the highest honor from the Make A Wish Foundation, the Chris Greicius Celebrity Award, for her work in helping make wishes come true. She has also lectured at the Make A Wish Worldwide Conference. Additionally, in 2008 she was inducted into the Mentor Hall of Fame and this year, she completed her ninth year as a volunteer working with inner city teenagers for Youth Mentoring Connection. She is also on the Leadership Council for A Place Called Home, a community center in South Los Angeles for at-risk youth. The Los Angeles City Council recently honored Lori for her contributions in making the city a nicer place to live.

There are amazing advantages to my career in the music business, I am a music junkie and believe in and love the artists that I am privileged to work with every day.I am currently working with two beautiful sisters called, THE PIERCES. Alison and Catherine are talented, sweet, classy and definitely fashion trend setters. There is something magical about sister harmonies that cannot be manufactured. They just got word they will be opening for COLDPLAY!!!!! The bass player from Coldplay, Guy Berryman, produced their new album entitled, You and I (available March 27 in the US). They share with me some of their HEALTHY SECRETS that are a MUST while on tour with COLDPLAY.

Check out their music video for "You'll Be Mine"
Check out the yoga video we did with Parachute a few years ago. It’s definitely an advantage when your record company rep is also a yoga instructor J.
I think I might have hurt them…lol…enjoy!
We had a blast hanging with Austin Brown at the latest After School All Stars event! Check out the photos above! Also, we showed the epsiode of the show that we did with Austin. Check it out below!
Shout out to Zevia, M Café, lulu lemon and of course Austin Brown!
Rockstar Health & Fitness (RHF) and the After School All Stars (ASAS) have teamed up to make health & fitness fun and educational for local LA high school and middle school kids. ASAS is an after school program started by former Governor Schwarzenegger that works with 36 LA schools helping 5,000 kids a day. They teach important life skills and feature key programs recently cut from schools, including health & fitness! It's an honor to be named their fitness ambassador and to be among other well known program ambassadors, like Kobe Bryant and Fabulous. We recently had our first event at the Kinetic Synergy Academy in South LA. My good friend Lala Romero joined me and we had a blast. The day consisted of: a discussion on the importance of a healthy lifestyle and taking care of your body, a viewing of Lala's episode of RHF and her latest videos, yoga, a talent show hosted by Lala, snacks from Zevia (the healthy soda) and vegan cookies. This was followed by a meet andgreet autograph session w/ Lala and the kids. It was SO much fun and the kids were adorable!! Here is the link to the highlight reel from Skee TV:
I spent most of last week doing press and promo with Snow Patrol. You may know them from their big hits: Chasing Cars, Run, Just Say Yes or their new single, Called Out in The Dark. It's been a busy week with their new album release, Fallen Empires, last Tuesday. So between Ellen, Billy Bush, Rick Dees and radio promo in a Chicago blizzard, there was a lot of traveling. One can only hope that the band you are running around with likes to eat healthy! The main thing Snow Patrol always requests, or we need to find, is fresh juices. Not bottled but fresh "squeezed in front of you" juice.

All the recipes on Rockstar Health and Fitness are amazing. One of my favorites, which has actually become my choice for breakfast since New Years, is the smoothie we made with Kim Glass. If you saw her RHF episode you know Kim is an Olympic medalist, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, ESPN "it" girl, and all around fun person.

It's easy to make and is super healthy. You can use ice with fresh fruit OR frozen fruit. I love using frozen blueberries, fresh strawberries, a banana, Greek yogurt, almond milk, honey and a supplement. Blend it all together and that's it, quick and easy! It is delicious, refreshing (it's been 80 degrees in LA...yay!) and really fills you up.
I have it in the morning and sometimes at the end of the day when I don't feel like having a big dinner. Try it, and let me know if you have any fun new ideas to add to it. ENJOY
1. Blender
2. Frozen Blueberries, Strawberries
3. 1 Banana
4. A couple spoons on Greek Yogurt
