A barrel of organic wine from their Miraval estate has just been sold for $13,800 at an auction where the proceeds go to an agricultural project in Africa.
Michael Latz, the mayor of Correns, said that the annual sale in his village is designed to help people living in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
"We've organized this sale in solidarity with the people of the Kivu region," he told reporters.
The money raised is said to be donated to a project that aims to teach young people about sustainable farming.

Pop star and Grammy award winner, Chris Brown will be making his way back to court in DC to face a felony assault charge. Chris Brown is accused of punching a man in the face after the man said he tried to get into a photo with the singer outside a hotel, according to police. This was reported on Sunday at the W Hotel in Washington DC. Brown's arrest could affect his probation in the Rihanna assault case. Brown is due back in court Nov. 20 in Los Angeles to update a judge on his probation. Prosecutors could seek a revocation of his probation or ask a judge to impose additional penalties.
Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer will write the score for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," according to an interview the 40 year old rapper gave to Billboard.
"I’m going back in with T.I. Beyonce. Jennifer Hudson. Nelly has this really big record named 'Rick James.' That’s my jam. Hans Zimmer and I are scoring “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” Williams revealed when asked about his upcoming schedule.
This isn't the first time Zimmer and Williams have made music together. The pair also collaborated together on "Despicable Me" and this year's "Man Of Steel." Williams, for his part, is near giddy to work with Zimmer again.
The members of Fleetwood Mac announced this weekend that the band will be canceling all of their upcoming tour dates in Australia and New Zealand, scheduled for November and December.

"Fleetwood Mac, who has just completed the European leg of their phenomenally successful worldwide tour, has announced the cancelation of their upcoming 14 date tour of Australia and New Zealand."
As to the reason for the cancelation, the band explained, "John McVie, one of the co-founding and original members of Fleetwood Mac is now scheduled to be in treatment for cancer during that period of time."
"We are sorry to not be able to play these Australian and New Zealand dates," the band said in the statement. "We hope our Australian and New Zealand fans as well as Fleetwood Mac fans everywhere will join us in wishing John and his family all the best."
