Para los Ninos

Para Los Niños is a nonprofit organization that has worked for more than thirty years to create academic success and social well-being for children. Through early education centers, charter schools, and wellness centers, they offer high-quality education integrated with family supports, mental health services, and community engagement opportunities to thousands of children living in at-risk neighborhoods in Los Angeles county.

This year, Para los Ninos has some wonderful projects and events in the pipeline to further its mission of support for families in need.

Event Information

El Gran Baile de Cinco Fundraiser

When:  Friday, May 3rd at 6:30 pm

Where:  Gilmore Adobe, 6301 W. 3rd St., LA

What: The event will showcase artwork of the students along with live and silent auction plus entertainment. All proceeds support the organization's educational and social services, which benefit thousands of children living in skid row and at-risk neighborhoods in Los Angeles County. 

Para los Ninos with KaBoom and Disney

When: Thursday, May 9th

Where:  Para los Nino Early Education Center in Pico-Union

What: Para los Ninos in conjunction with KaBoom and Disney will build a playground for a day at the Para los Nino Early Education Center in Pico-Union.

Why: With the help of 200 volunteers, the playground will enhance the neighborhood, motivate children to exercise, and provide a needed safe haven of play for children and families in the area.

"Lupus LA"

Lupus LA, the West Coast division of the S.L.E. Lupus Foundation, promotes lupus research, awareness, and education, and serves the needs of people with lupus and their families in Los Angeles County.

Join us on May 9, 2013 as Lupus LA hosts our premier fundraiser, the Orange Ball Gala. Held each spring, this event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support Lupus LA's awareness and education programs across Southern California. This event also supports groundbreaking research through our national partner, the Lupus Research Institute. The celebrity-hosted night features a cocktail hour, formal dinner, live auction, and top-level entertainment.

"California Office Of Traffic Safety"

The California Office of Traffic Safety’s mission is to effectively and efficiently administer traffic safety grant funds to reduce traffic deaths, injuries, and economic losses.

– April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

In an effort to eliminate dangerous behind-the-wheel cell phone use and texting, the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), California Highway Patrol (CHP), and more than 200 law enforcement agencies across the state today announced high visibility enforcement operations during April’s National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

CicLAvia creates a temporary park for free, simply by removing cars from city streets. It creates a network of connections between our neighborhoods and businesses and parks with corridors filled with fun.

To the Sea will be CicLAvia’s longest route to date, spanning more than 15 miles and connecting the city’s historic center at El Pueblo de Los Angeles and the bustling boardwalk of Venice Beach. Several hubs along this expansive route will offer information and services for participants. To the Sea offers a rich tour of the city’s history, vibrant neighborhoods, and majestic views of the Pacific Ocean.
