CHECK YOUR BOOBIES

Check Your Boobies’ mission is to have every woman know her breasts. They created this non-profit organization to educate women about breast health in a frank, fun, and fear-free manner. We are dedicated to the prevention and early detection of Breast Cancer. Check Your Boobies hopes to change the way breast health information is delivered. Breast health education needs to happen more than once a year in a doctor’s office. The goal of Check Your Boobies is to allow women to see their breasts as breasts only. They want to help them know their body, know their breasts and demystify the breast so that women are not afraid or embarrassed to touch them and talk about them, and take action if they need to. They also provide a free online email reminder which provides women with a monthly reminder to help them remember to check their boobies.
FACT: Based on the American Cancer Society, 1 in 7 women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. And early detection makes a HUGE difference in survival. According to the American Society of Clinical Oncology, up to 97% of women diagnosed with early stage breast cancer will survive 5 years after diagnosis. Increasing numbers of young women are being diagnosed at an earlier age. It is vital that every woman be familiar with her breasts.
