Elephant Awareness Day is a day to pause and take a moment to understand what is going on in the lives of elephants. You will be glad you did. Unbeknownst to most people, elephants are suffering terribly in zoos, circuses and at tourist destinations, living lives of misery just so we can have a few moments of entertainment. It is heart-breaking that these intelligent, social, gentle giants are being mistreated. Elephants definitely need the help of caring people like you. You can help by becoming aware of their plight, not supporting activities that harm them, and taking action to spread the word.
