Melissa McCarthy has teamed up with Sandra Bullock for what is one of the best comedy duos ever in The Heat.
The funny woman called in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest to chat about starring in the Paul Feig-directed female buddy-cop flick as Detective Mullins and revealed her chemistry with Sandy transitioned off-screen, as well.
Melissa says that she hadn’t actually met the Oscar-winning actress until they began shooting the action-comedy in Boston.
“The first time we talked I think we both kind of knew we would hit it off,” she says. ”We both have similar sense of humors and we both have kids the same age. We had a really, really great time shooting it. She’s really funny.”
And the “womance” feeling is mutual as Sandra dubbed Melissa her “hottest co-star” yet. So how does Melissa feel about beating out studs like Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, George Clooney, and more?
Melissa laughs: “She only said that because it was like 106 [degrees] in Boston.”
Catch The Heat in theaters this Friday!
